live on the weekend

Live on the weekend was created after I had the profound realization that I was completely wasting my weekends.  I noticed I spent the first part of my weekend drained and exhausted from the week, practically glued to my couch and Netflix.  Then, I spent the second half of my weekend running errands and preparing for the upcoming weekend.  That’s not the kind of weekend I want; that’s not nourishing or engaging!  So I decided to make a change and start an experiment of sorts.  I made a commitment to be intentional with my weekends, engaging in things that fill up my cup and recharge my soul.  And I’m documenting the whole journey here, on my website.

Join me every Friday, as I share reflections, observations, funny stories, and challenges, as I am aim to fully LIVE on the weekend.  And perhaps you’ll relate to my realization and decide to make a few changes in your life, as well.  Let’s do this!

My Social Media Wake Up Call

My Favorite Weekend Adventure Yet

A few weekends ago, we had a wide-open Saturday afternoon. Matt had to work in the morning, and then we had absolutely no other plans. None. Nowhere to be, nowhere to go, and most of our friends were out of town. It was exciting and perplexing at the same time. …

Make the Ordinary Into Something Special

When I was a little girl, my mom had a magical superpower. She would make the ordinary into something special. My mom would take the most mundane activity and make it into an experience. We had rainy day picnics in the middle of the living room. We had heart shaped …

When Real Life Gets in the Way of Your Weekend

The longer I do this whole “live on the weekend” thing, the more I love it. Making the decision to radically change how I spend Friday through Sunday was an awesome decision, one I’m not turning back on anytime soon. Recently though, I hit a snag. Real life.   I pulled …
